Animals are part of our families.

As many of you know, the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is around the corner…and thankfully, there’s a way that we may be able to protect our beloved animals from a second disaster similar to this. Many people would not abandon their pets.

Congress is considering a bill that would create better rescue plans for companion animals in disasters, called The Pet Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act (PETS Act). If this bill is passed animals will be part of a disaster plan. A disaster plan for animals helps both animals and people. Do what you can to let your congress representative know that your animals are part of your family.
